Five thousand shows for Karzzzz

Himesh Reshammiya is elated about Karzzzz and is determined to win over all his detractors with every release

People say that multiplexes are not running to houseful capacity
Karzzzz has been released with approximately 1200 prints and nearly 5000 shows a day which is a record for any Bollywood film.

Naturally the collections cannot be expected to be houseful except on weekends. Also it is only my second film. Ideally, I would have released Karzzzz with 500 prints but like in the West, now it is all about how much collection you generate in the first week.

? How do you feel about the response?
The film has been accepted and going by the collections, it will turn out to be a bonanza for the producer and the distributors. Bhushan Kumar has already made his money and the distributors will be recovering their entire money in the first week itself.

? The triangle song in the second half of the film could have been done away with.
I agree. But I have catered to all the pockets of the world. Some sections have appreciated it while some do not like it. Some of my fans always want 7-8 songs from me. And ultimately it turns out to be an asset in terms of the music sales.

? You have made great strides as far as acting is concerned.
I am extremely happy that this time I have got critical acclaim too. I have got great response from 80 per cent of the audience for my looks and acting abilities. As for those remaining 20 per cent who have not liked the film, I will try and win them over with my next film Kajraare.

? Do you finally feel accepted as a leading man?
I am an unconventional package of singing, acting and music and mind you this is just the beginning. I will be working even harder to achieve some of the goals that I have set for myself.

? What is that one thing that you want to improve in your next film?
I am not a conventional dancer. I will start working on that now.

TFS. But when I watched it I felt like it was the worst film of the century. Shobby acting by all the actors. Just wondered why I wasted my 2:30 hrs for a crap like Karzzzz

yeh the movie wasnt that great----but i just wanted to post this up---cuz i saw some articles on bwt stating that karzzzz was flop----This is just a misunderstanding since Karzzzz released with 1200 prints (something unprecedented)....it is normal for the occupancy to be in the middle ranges...But people though this means it is flop--which is not true---Karzzzz has done good business..

"KARZZZZ has surprised. Considering the fact that the film was being released at a huge print count, the occupancy was always expected to be in the middle range. However, though one was looking at a 50% odd opening on Friday, that was not the case to be as the occupancy was lesser and instead of increasing over the weekend, it just remained the same till Sunday. Single screens were better but not huge enough to ensure a smooth sailing for the film. A lot would now depend upon how the film performs on a reduced count of prints in the second weekend. If it stays on the same lines as the first weekend, KARZZZZ may have some decent credentials to showcase."

it's all about how much money a movie made in a week now ?!? and how can he admit that it's all about first week collections like in the west and at the same time say that he got critical acclaim too..

real actors wont have much repect left for such "forst week collection" actors..

if he believes that the critics are right, he would say that the fans would go in again to watch him..

hey even if movie sucks, my argument is that as long as the songs are excellent, who cares, I'll just watch it for the songs, I love himesh for his composing and singing not his acting or the script of the movie. Just as Akki fans made garbage movie like SIK blockbuster, Himesh fans has made bad film like Karzzzz big hit. And a hit is what matters in the end.

No wonder SRK rules, because he has all the hype and fan following for his films combined with excellent acting and script. You release films with that killer combo continuously and consistently, you have the formula to become the baadshah of bollywood.

Btw, it does matter if the movie sucks. That tells you who hates the movie and who likes it. In this case (and SrK's case) only fans tend to like their movies. Exactly why SIK was a huge hit.

I'm not a fan of Himesh, but i do like the music- his singing sucks, and his acting needs to stop. I'm not a huge fan of Akki, but I like his movies (some more than others, but that doesn't matter). Too bad i can't say the same for SrK's movies.


Oh and why are these Karzzzzzzz threads still popping up? This is even worse than when SIK came out.

The Karzzzz threads are still popping up because people like you still cant seem to accept that Karzzzz is a hit....just because you dont like the movie, dont like Himes---doesnt mean that the movie flops--

Thats what I have been seeing in all the threads about Karzzzz....people like you simply cant accept that if Himesh sings from the nose, ass or ear---his films will always be hits due to his brand value...Himesh is a commodity!!!

^^^ nicely done. I want to say the exact thing to you darknight, just because u do not like himesh and SRK, doesn't mean that they suck. Just accept the fact that they are superstars and have unique talents in acting singing and composing and most importantly what they have in common is their personality and attitude of dedication and honesty.

SRK and HR are good human beings above all, which is rare to find in the world today.

^^^ he clarified in aajtak interview with prabhu chawla that it makes better business sense to act in the movie u compose. He said the package deal(vomposing, singing, acting) business model is more practical and effective and he has to sing in his movies because it would look weird if he acted and some1 else sang, he said Sonu Nigam is the best singer, but his playback singing would not suit HR's acting, because public expects to hear himesh's voice when they see him on screen. Basically, any music director in their right sense would act, sing and compose music if they could do it successfully and make profit from it, but only HR can pull it off, sonu Nigam tried, he failed. HR is successfull so it is but natural for him to continue the package deal business model.

Okay, no doubt it's a hit. I never denied it. Nor do I ever deny that SrK's movies are hits. I never say that just because I don't like the movie, it's not a hit. I have just as much say in this as much as anyone else. If the movie sucks, the actors can't act, the songs are horrible, and the only source of entertainment is by the actors in the movie (with horrible dialogue delivery btw) acting like dumbasses, then why should that movie deserve to be a hit? Why does it deserve this much attention? There's nothing good about that movie. All you can do is bang your head into a wall when you watch it. But still, all these bullsh!t threads about Himesh this, Karzzzzzz that, are still coming up. Hey, i understand you and lego are hardcore fans, but seriously, no one likes it when people like you make stupid, meaningless, threads about something- like this movie, for example.

But movies that do deserve attention don't get it, because of people like you who just think about one thing, and one thing only. Want an example? Did you see how many threads there were about TDK? It came out before SIK, and had maybe 5 threads. But when SIK came out, it's like every thread on the front page was about SIK.
