While Farhan Akhtar and his Rock On!! teammates wooed the audience world over, Sital Banerjee a Global Media Director, inspired by Rock On!!, decided to follow his dream of recording an album.
Pehli Mulaqat which has 15 adaptations of Kishore Kumar's songs is the outcome. 'I have tried to give Kishore's music an international appeal by singing his songs in Rock style or Arabic style,' said Banerjee.
'I have watched Rock On!! many times. I feel it reflects my life. I had a successful corporate 9 to 5 job. Before that I tried to work in the film industry for some 15 to 20 years. But nothing worked out. So I moved on to search for my bread and butter. But today my family believes in me and wants me to pursue my dream.'

'I am in Netherlands but I want to return to India for the sake of music. If Pehli Mulaqat does well I will launch a website to promote people like me. Given a chance I would like to meet Farhan Akhtar and tell him that 'I am the real rock on guy'.'
Farhan Akhtar on his part said, 'It is an amazing example of life imitating art. If our film has inspired him to follow up on a dream he had ignored, it's a compliment to Abhishek Kapoor and his vision. On a personal level, it reinstates my belief in the power cinema has to inspire.'
