Default Bollywood's most under-rated
enough of polls on kings and queens in bolywood
So who among these are the most underrated in bollywood

Tabu

With every passing film, the shy Tabu keeps blooming into an exquisite actress. Unlike other stars who tom-tom their smallest achievements and international biggies that never get made, the poetic beauty likes to underplay herself.

And just when you thought she's disappeared in oblivion, Tabu makes a double impact with sensitive portrayals in Mira Nair's The Namesake and R Balki's Cheeni Kum.

Akshaye Khanna

Star son status notwithstanding, Vinod Khanna's lad proved to be a superior chip of the old block with his debut, Himalayaputra -- an abysmal movie where Akshaye nevertheless rocked.

Regardless of his box office status and hair-aches, the actor has consistently thrilled us with warmth and versatility in films like Border, Taal, Dil Chahta Hai, Hulchul, Deewangee, Humraaz and Gandhi My Father.

Konkona Sen Sharma

Her peers Kareena Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra perennially grab the limelight. The intelligent and intense Konkona, however, likes her work to do all the talking.

Her amazing compatibility and understanding with/of the medium is evident in films like Mr and Mrs Iyer, Amu, Page 3, Omkara and Life in A Metro. Even in a cheesy flick, like Laaga Chunari Mein Daag, Konkona maintains her credibility as an actress.

Too bad Bollywood refuses to see her beyond 'Best Supporting Actress' roles.

Irrfan Khan

What can you say about a man whose sheer intensity makes duds like Rog and Sunday watchable?

Well-acquainted with the international film making scene thanks to films like The Warrior, The Namesake, A Might Heart and The Darjeeling Limited, Irrfan has demonstrated he can do both Maqbool and Life in a Metro with aplomb.

Though Irrfan may not command a box-office opening like other Khans (yet), there's no denying the soft-spoken actor is any day more gifted and deserving than half the folks he shares his surname with.

Juhi Chawla

Chirpy Chawla's endearing ways and trademark giggles made her a darling of one and all. But when it came to serious business or number games, arch rival Madhuri Dixit scored.

Such a shame, really, considering Juhi's impeccable comic timing and smooth transistion into meaningful cinema with stellar performances in Teen Deewarein, Jhankaar Beats, My Brother Nikhil and Swami.

Underestimated? Absolutely.

Ranvir Sheorey-Vinay Pathak

From co-hosting shows on TV to doing offbeat roles on big screen, India's answer to Beavis and Butthead have done it all.

Whether it's comedy or crime, the oddball duo get under the skin of their eccentric characters with characteristic realism and humorous irreverence.

As a combination they are unbeatable. Witness Khosla Ka Ghosla, Bheja Fry and Mithya. Individually too, Ranvir (in Pyaar Ke Side Effects) and Vinay (in Johnny Gaddar) are doing incredibly well in multiplex-friendly cinema. What about big banners? Their loss completely, we say!

Kay Kay Menon

Question: Define intensity.
Answer: Kay Kay Menon

The marvelously layered actor shines at whoever he chooses to play. Whether it's stealing the show from the Bachchans in Ram Gopal Varma's Godfather-inspired, Sarkar or standing out in ensemble fares like Honeymoon Travels Pvt Ltd and Life in a Metro, it's all in a day's work for this unconventional looker.

And still it's Abhishek Bachchan and not him who walks away with the Filmfare trophy for Sarkar.

Tragic!

Pankaj Kapur

Brilliance thy name is Pankaj Kapur. His carror-chomping ways made Kapur small screen's most beloved detective. While Karamchand remains legendary, the actor moved on to playing hierarchy-stricken common man Musaddilal in sitcom Office Office.

Even as you admire him in superlatives for his work in movie gems like Jaane Bhi Do Yaaron, Ek Doctor Ki Maut, Mandi and Khamosh, you can't help wondering why Kapur never got the same attention as colleagues Naseeruddin Shah, Om Puri and Shabana Azmi.

The new millennium witnessed the return of the consciously low-profile actor in a more potent avatar than ever with Maqbool, Dus, The Blue Umbrella and Dharm.

Arshad Warsi

Everyone goes ga-ga over Munnabhai and his bouts of jadoo ki jhappis and Gandhigiri. Truth be told Munnabhai sans Circuit is akin to Shrek without Donkey. And that's inconcievable.

A vibrant Arshad Warsi impressed right from his debut, Tere Mere Sapne before finding his calling in full-fledged comedy with films like Munnabhai MBBS, Golmaal, Salaam Namaste, Dhamaal, Lage Raho Munnabhai and Kabul Express.

While we all know he can crack you up with his reel jokes, he's highly capable of conveying no-nonsense ardor (remember his portrayal of a cop in Sehar?) as well. Now that is one good performance that was, sadly, overlooked.

Manoj Bajpai

Playing Bhiku Mhatre, a larger-than-life, super-dynamic, self-styled underworld goon in Ram Gopal Varma's slice of Mumbai mafia, Satya marked the turning point of Manoj Bajpai's career.

A giddy level of critical and public acclaim was followed by eclectic roles in Kaun, Fiza, Zubeidaa, Aks, Road, Pinjar and Veer-Zaara.

While his histrionic skills in all genres remain unquestioned, filmmakers haven't fully explored the immense possibilities within this fearlessly experimental National award-winning hero.

it is bollywood / indians who likes !!!!!faced soft actors that is the reason sharukh khan is star
and none of the actors u mentioned there.
girls = face+ boob+ ass+can suck up directors and job done

@ topic i think Javed Jaffery is one of the most underrated actor too
Urmila matondkar = acting in banaras
i don't know his name but that guy who says "papa...papa.. i got diploma in bomb making.. -One Two Three" movie. he is one of the good actor tooo i loved his role in "anwar"

It is just hard for bollywood/indians to accept not very good looking actors in movie. chopping those doll faced dumb chicks who can't act.

Most of the people on the poll are under-rated so you can't just vote for one person.
